Stamp Mill
The new 30-stamp mill is most excellent, and both the building and all the machinery and plant are models of their kind.
The above report was made before Deer Lake Power Plant was completed.
“There seems to be no reason why the 30 stamps can not now be kept continuously at work and the supply of ore for them ought to be obtained without much trouble. The number of tons crushed per month ought, therefore, to exceed 2,000, or say 24,000 tons per annum. The cost during April when only a small quantity was crushed was all together $3.00, and the yield should be about $6.00.”
“At the present moment, using steam power, we may take, therefore, the cost of mining, milling, etc., at the above-mentioned figure, viz., $3.00 per ton.”
“The profit that should be earned during the next 12 months should be as follows : —
24,000 tons at $6.00 –
Cost of mining, milling etc., 24,000 tons at $3.00 per ton, equals
Development work, sinking shafts, 240 feet at $40.00 equals
